WINERYSKOVIN GROUP vineyards
WINERYSKOVIN GROUP vineyards are situated on the moderate hills and slopes in the Skopje region. Some of the vineyards originate from the era of Ancient Macedonia and some of them are relatively new in bringing rich yield. The vineyards of WINERYSKOVIN GROUP are distinguished for giving genuine aroma to the wines, as a reflection of the sharp ice and the dry sunny summer. Their unique and favorable location on 400-600 meters altitude on the southern slopes of Vodno mountain, far away from the industrial capacities, covering the area of 500 hectares in the region called Sonceva Dolina and the locality Markova Reka are some of the factors that contribute to the production of wine with premium and unique style and taste.
The ecologically clean environment and significant number of sunny days enable high percentage of sugar and quality of the grapes. WINERYSKOVIN GROUP owns 150 hectares of vineyards in the Tikvesh wine-growing region. The influence of the Mediterranean climate from south creates perfect conditions for production of high-quality wine. Regarding the location of the vineyards, as well as for the other qualities of the environment in this region, at the beginning of the 20th century the French have stated that it is more favorable and brings larger grape yield even than the soil of the very prominent wine region of Bordeaux.
Exposed to sun within 160-170 days of the year, with average annual temperatures from 12-14 degrees Celsius, the vineyards of WINERYSKOVIN GROUP remained intact from the industrial pollution and ecological deterioration of the soil and the air. The moderate humidity of the air enriched with the moderate Mediterranean climate enables increased percentage of sugar to certain extent and stimulates the high quality of the grapes.
Harvesting and procession of the grapes
The care of the professional and skillful team of WINERYSKOVIN GROUP and the will to cherish and improve the quality of the products are present in each segment of the production process. They carefully determine the period of harvesting of the grapes. The period when high temperatures prevail is unacceptable for grapes harvesting. Recently, priority has been given to the night harvesting when the atmospheric conditions enable optimal and longest preservation of the freshness of the grapes.
The tendency to maintain and preserve the natural characteristics of the wine tanks is strongly paired with the ardent determination to obtain wine closely similar to the wine that was once produced, at times when the wine-growing tradition was introduced in our region.
